Christmas music -- Not!

This is the time of year when I don't listen to the radio. If I have my radio alarm set, it's usually only minutes before I reach out and turn it off. Why? Because of the nauseating Christmas music.

For the last month or so, I have been listening to a radio station that makes a delightful change. It is a streaming Internet station, FolkAlley.com. Rather than intersperse an ever increasing number of holiday songs into the regular stream until December 25th, they have left their regular programming intact, and added another stream devoted to Christmas music.

Here's a sample of the performers from today's regular stream: Harem Scarem, Odetta, Peter Mayer, Chittlin', Mollie O'Brien, The Greencards, Richard Thompson, Shawn Colvin, Bob Dylan, Two High String Band, Sarah Harmer, Judy Collins, Ellis Paul, Corinne West, Donovan, George Harrison, John Renbourn, America, Kasey Chambers, The Jackie Frost Ensemble, Kathryn Tickell, Steven Delopoulos, Arlo Guthrie, Dan Crary, Peter Rowan, Vienna Teng, John Prine, The Waybacks, John Smith, Maia Sharp, Patrick Sweany Band, Chris Jones, Catriona MacDonald, Steve Earle, Cindy Mangsen, Amy White, Dougie Maclean, Richard Gilewitz, Peter McLaughlin, Todd Hallawell, Brooks Williams, Loreena McKennitt, Bob Brozman, Jesse Colin Young, The Little Willies. I have no idea what's on the Christmas list.
